Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Professional Program
Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is increasingly used to realize client performance objectives through effective project and production plans with measurable outcomes such as ~40% reduction in issue resolution time and ~50% reduction in overall construction schedule. Successful Candidates will:
Use collaborative planning, management, and project execution methods to optimize success of design and construction projects.
Establish vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap to realize business and project objectives.
Apply VDC on real-world projects.
Leverage BIM as part of a broader approach integrating visualization, simulation, and whole-team collaboration to maximize project outcomes.
Strategic Building Innovation (SBI) has successfully delivered VDC Certificate and VDC Leadership programs in collaboration with Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) for years to hundreds of professionals who now deploy these skills in everyday projects. SBI has recently been approved to deliver similar and enhanced courses in collaboration with the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD).

openBIM extends the benefits of BIM (Building Information Modeling) by improving the accessibility, usability, management and sustainability of digital data in the built asset industry. At its core, openBIM is a collaborative process that is vendor neutral. openBIM processes can be defined as sharable project information that supports seamless collaboration for all project participants. openBIM facilitates interoperability to benefit projects and assets throughout their lifecycle.
